On Tuesday 18 September, before students and staff arrived in school, a big blue truck pulled into BSB and parked up on Tintin playground. The XperiLAB had arrived! This was no ordinary truck…. Funded by Solvay, it is a mobile laboratory filled with different workspaces and equipment and is a wonderful area of discovery for budding scientists.
Year 5 went in their class groups to carry out experiments. The current ILT (Integrated Learning Theme) for the Year 5 students is ‘Investigators’ with one of the learning challenges being ‘How do we think and act like a scientist?’ The XperiLAB gave our students the opportunity to make discoveries about the world around them. It gave them an insight into what it is like to be a scientist developing a positive attitude towards the challenges of the future.
We have already confirmed another visit in 2020, so our current Year 3 will be the next young scientists to discover the excellent XperiLAB.
Stay up-to-date with news and events at BSB via Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
