For the second consecutive year, the British School of Brussels (BSB) has been independently ranked as one of the top 100 schools in the world and top 10 in Europe by The Spear’s Schools Index 2021, the only global ranking of the world’s leading private schools.
Melanie Warnes, Principal of the British School of Brussels said:
“This is a tremendous accolade for BSB and is testament to the dedication and skill of our teachers, the superb support of parents and, of course, the commitment of our wonderful students. We are extremely proud of BSB’s ranking as a top school in Europe and the world, recognising as it does our commitment to a holistic education, which develops the whole child. Not only do BSB students achieve superb academic results but even more importantly they learn to engage confidently, purposefully and ethically with the world around them.”
As well as formal criteria such as academic results and preparation for university entry, schools are ranked on their unique ethos, their reputation both locally and internationally, and how adequately they prepare students for life beyond academia.
Fiona McKenzie, Head of Education, Carfax Education, said:
“Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions a family will make for their child and that’s why we wanted to share our knowledge in an index that provides a trusted perspective on the very best schools around the world. The impact of a child’s educational experience goes far beyond academia alone, and for that reason we looked at each school’s unique ethos and how they prepare students for the future, when determining schools that made the cut.”
