Record breaking exam results for BSB's Class of 2022

Celebrations at The British School of Brussels following release of 2022 Post-16 exam results.

It is celebration time again at The British School of Brussels as we offer our congratulations to our wonderful Class of 2022 students who have achieved outstanding exam results across all of the school’s Post-16 pathways.

Our examination results at Post-16 for A Level, BTEC and the IB Diploma have been remarkable again this year and are a true testament to the many months of hard work our students have undertaken in challenging courses as they aspire to bright futures in further education and interesting careers beyond.

100% exam pass rate for A Level, BTEC and IB – for the 3rd year running

BSB has three distinct pathways to ensure all students have the very best options to suit their own individual needs. These are the international Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, A Levels and BTEC.

At A Level, our results were outstanding and represent the best results in the school’s history. BSB’s A Level results included more than a quarter of its students achieving A* and around half of all students achieving A-A* grades and with all students passing giving a 100% pass rate for the third year running.

BTEC results for BSB students taking courses in Business, Hospitality and Sport were also extremely impressive with a 100% pass rate. A remarkable set of results included 35% of all grades at Distinction* (the highest grade and equivalent to an A* in A Level) and 83% of all grades at Merit or higher.

British School of Brussels IB exam results 2022 – a top performing IB school

BSB is already ranked as a top IB performing school and students this year also achieved fantastic IB (International Baccalaureate) results with this being the third year running where BSB has achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate.

The school’s IB results show an excellent 3-year average of 38 points including a student this year achieving the elusive highest possible score of 45 points.  More than 75% of students achieved a score of 34 points or more, while 97% of students obtained 30+ points.

“The outstanding results in all three course pathways are brilliant. The three academic pathways offered by BSB mean that students are set up for success. These A-level results demonstrate the advantage in being able to specialise whether it is, for example, Adam who achieved three A* grades gaining a place at Oxford to study English Language and Literature, or in the Sciences where both Gael and Yuri gained straight A*s and gained places in Cambridge and Oxford respectively.  Their successes are mirrored in the Arts, Maths and STEM subjects where the very top grades were achieved by record numbers of our students.” John Knight, Head of Secondary.

Expert teaching and pastoral support

BSB does not select students by academic ability. For many, English is not their native language. This makes these successes even more impressive. The programmes are led by a highly committed and well-qualified team of teachers and our expert academic, university and pastoral support is organised to help individual students to be the best they can be.

“We encourage our students to aim high and my fantastic team of professionals play their part in nurturing and challenging students to succeed and make their aspirations reality. Our IB, A Level and BTEC graduates step into the world confident, capable, and courageous; their results are superb.” Principal, Melanie Warnes.

We offer our sincere congratulations to all British School of Brussels students for their amazing exam results in 2022. We are very proud of you all!
