The Role:
The Enrichment Department (responsible for organising extra-curricular activities) is currently looking for part-time Football coaches for the year round (September – June) BSB Football programme across our competitive boys and girls u14 to u18 teams and junior recreational sessions.

Trainings are held on weekdays after school, with recreational groups training twice a week and competitive teams three times a week. Each session lasts between 60-90 minutes. There are weekly fixture commitments on weekends (and some midweek evenings), with our teams participating in a variety of local fixtures (September-May) and International tournaments in Term 1 (September-November).

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To act in accordance with school policy and procedures in relation to child protection and safeguarding
  • Act as a role model, demonstrate the highest standards of sportsmanship and develop attitudes in team members which foster respect for opponents, respect for officials and mutual respect
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that the equipment is correct and is kept in good working order
  • Be available for all home and away competitions, including weekly weekend fixtures
  • Attend all coaches meetings as communicated by the Head of Football
  • Make participants aware of their progress
  • Attend the season ending tournament and Sports Awards Evening
  • Plan and deliver coaching sessions appropriate to the ability of participants
  • Take direct responsibility for the conduct of one’s own team and have a shared responsibility with coaching colleagues for the members of other BSB teams throughout the season
  • Monitor the distribution and collection of playing kit each game and throughout the season
  • Additionally, some sports fixtures take place in other European countries so a willingness to travel is required

Qualifications / experience

  • A level 1 or 2 coaching qualification is applicable to the position being applied for
  • Provide an up to date First Aid Certificate or be willing to attend an approved course provided by the school

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the Royal Belgian Football Association rules (RBFA)
  • Previous experience of coaching a team affiliated to Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA)
  • Ability to speak French and or Dutch would be an advantage
  • Ability to drive/own transport for local federation away games

Skills

We are particularly looking for coaches who are flexible, reliable, possess good communication skills in English and enjoy working with children.
Any interested candidates must currently reside in Belgium or be eligible to work in Europe.
